Revenge on 50 gorgeous gifts

Did anybody catch Revenge Sunday night?  If not, you might have missed the fact that Target and Neiman Marcus bought all the ad time in Sunday's "Revenge" to unveil their new collection.  I'm so intrigued by this conglomeration of marketing in and of itself, but, in addition, they revealed it in a spectacular soap opera commercial series.  I think this was a brilliant stroke of marketing in combining two giant retailers' from opposite ends of the spectrum into one brand appealing to a broad market of attainable luxury shoppers.

If you're interested in a gander, take a look:

And, don't forget, the goodies:

What do you think of the collection?  Does this kind of "affordable luxury" appeal to you? (If so, may we suggest you stop into Labels Designer Consignment for a slew of worthy options to top your Christmas list?)

Glamour magazine just announced its annual Women of the Year, but the big prize went to trend-spotter extraordinaire, Jenna Lyons.  As the creative director for J. Sandy blew in... and so did Fall Accessorizing

Whew!  We've all been on pins and needles this week with the Great Storm of Sandy making her way up the East Coast.  And, we're keeping those in the Northeast in our thoughts and prayers as they make their way back to some normalcy over the next few weeks.  We hope that all your friends and family were safe.  Here in Greenville, we had quite the blustery winds bringing in some serious chilly temps - which for fashion's sake, I was thankful, as it provided a great excuse to get out a few of my favorite fall wardrobe pieces:

A Trench Coat
- Whether you prefer classic khacki, or to think outside the box with a fabulous fall shade, the trench coat is a must -have for any woman's wardrobe:

A fabulous umbrella:
- Same as the boots, accessorizing with the perky umbrella can take your rainy skies from gloom to glee:

Cozying up...

Sweater season is upon us and there's nothing better when the weather gets colder than a warm, fuzzy sweater to keep you toasty and fashionable.  Here's a few examples that make me thankful for the change of seasons:

So Good it's Scary SALE

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  As a girl who loves to play dress up, there is nothing better than a good old costume party!  We've already been invited to two and I can't wait to put together my costume and have a night to act like a kid again.  Along with the tricks though, there's also the treats to love!  A nice spoonful of sugar sure does help the mood during those dwindling October days while darkness descends on us. Here's some fall eye candy to satisfy your sweet tooth until you can get in here and shop for yourself:

2 down - 2 to go - Wednesday's workweek wonder outfits.

For a week that started off wet and chilly, it's turned into some beautiful Fall weather.  With that in mind, here's a few Fall inspirations getting me through this work week:

Love her or hate her.  Anna Wintour sure knows how to rock the layering look this season.

I love how Rachel Zoe can totally pull off the over-the-knee boots with such panache.   Can't wait to try to emulate this ensemble.

I just look at this image and am transfixed.  By the dress, the shawl collar, the bag and most of all, the cityscape.  I feel transported to a block of glamour, if only for a second.

Happy Humpday, everybody!  Back to work!

Fall finds- On the hunt!

I am thrilled that fall is here, the mornings are crisp and cool and the afternoons are sunny with open, blue skies.  At home, I am currently culling my closet through last year's wears.   And of course, for all those gaps made from clearing out, I'm making a "gotta-have-it" list to keep me focused on my Fall Fashion hunts. Here's of a few pieces I'm currently coveting:

I have literally been stalking an affordable/reduced pair of these Rag and Bone Newbury boots going on 2 years now.   Sadly, we had a pair walk into Labels, and they were 2 sizes too big.  But, for one lucky customer - she scored a practically brand new pair for 40% off retail price!

A creamy leather short jacket in tan would be a go-to in our milder climate all Fall through Winter.  This Theory 'Madigan - Juno' Crop Leather Jacket would be perfect with it's simple silhouette and slight angle of edginess to keep it from looking too extreme or too bland.

Speaking of great jackets, this Kate Spade animal print jacket is a MUST HAVE for me this year.  I have always been drawn to animal prints, especially leopard and love that they are making a come-back, still-classic and sticking around for the past few years.  Love how this blogger took something very feminine and juxtaposed it with stripes for a more rocker

Fall is in the air!

There was a slight (and I mean slight) nip in the air this morning as I drove to work.  I couldn't be more excited about Fall and pulled a few of my favorite Fall 2012 looks from the Paris Fashion Week last Spring:

This subversive sheath from DVF is classic, yet unexpected. LOVE.

This Louis Vuitton number is divine!  Can't you just imagine the grand adventure she's embarking on?

Go West with Rag & Bone.

This Haider Ackerman piece is sublime.  The elegance and simplicity is perfection.

My absolute favorite.  How leather should be done. Bravo, Valentino.

L'Wren Scott exudes Jazz Age glamour with this scrumptious velvet frock

From glancing at these all together I can see, the colors I'm most attracted to this season are mustard and red.  There's just something about these autumnal hues that exudes richness, warmth and the jeweled splendor designers are capturing so well for Fall.   I can't wait to see what's around the corner once the weather starts to really change.  Happy shopping everyone!

Oooo La la...

I'm headed to gay Paris next week and couldn't be more excited~!  In an effort to procrastinate packing, I've been researching Parisian style and Oh the places one can go! One recent book that received a lot of press is Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Inès de la Fressange.  Formerly a model for Lagerfeld, not everyone can capture her nearly 6" tall French finesse and style; however, she had some great advice on how to shop and build one's wardrobe.

Here are two great quotes we, at Labels, thought we'd share about basic styling that are easily attributable to our American lifestyles, especially at Labels:

'Trust a bit more'
Everybody has prejudices. I had a friend who had a short neck, so she thought she couldn't wear a turtleneck. Some people say blue can't go with black. Another friend said, "I can't wear earrings because they don't suit me". Where does it come from? If I wore a skirt, a matching jacket and big earrings, I would look like my grandmother. Fashions change, and I'm always learning. Talk to shop assistants or go shopping with friends, because sometimes they say, "why don't you try this?" and you might never have thought of it.
'Have fun'
There are some women, believe it or not, who think it's boring to go shopping. And they don't enjoy it. But everybody should enjoy looking better – it's nice, it gives you joy and fashion is all about joy. Lately there has been a lot about businessmen and huge companies, but we work for women, for the joy of finding somewhere new, of looking better and feeling desirable. There's this idea with fashion of "oh, this is going to be funny". You're funny if you say funny things, but who wants to look like a clown? Buy things without thinking they're funny – buying a black sweater isn't fun, it really isn't. But afterwards, when you wear it with nice neat hair and ballet shoes, you can look really beautiful. And that is fun.

Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Inès de la Fressange with Sophie Gachet is published on 11 April by Flammarion, priced £19.95

McQ collection: Net-a-porter

Net-a-porter recently announced the Fall 2012 much anticipated, McQ collection for purchase on their site.    Then, I, recently fell in love with this dress:

Here's what they have to say about it:
"Effortless and elegant, McQ Alexander McQueen's knitted dress offers a softer take on the runway's structured silhouettes. This tactile piece was crafted on an extremely rare knitting machine in Italy that replicates hand-weaving techniques to create highly complex patterns and designs."

I say, "All hail Sarah Burton".

Can(nes) she pull it off?

What do you think of this ginormous train Eva Longoria made an entrance (and exit) in for the Cannes Film Festival?

As a petite woman myself, I feel like this too major hutzpah for someone so short.  On the one hand, I admire the detailing and plumage of such a gown; but, just not sure how I feel about this look outside of posing for the paparazzi.  Nevertheless, she's a gorgeous woman with plenty of personality to carry it off.  Your thoughts?

OH what a night!

We are proud to say that Altitude was a huge success – and a lot of fun!

We had a great time seeing so many Labels’ friends and meeting new faces all in the supercool Tempus Jet’s hangar at GSP.  TOWN really put on an outstanding event.   Here are some highlights:

Flying high with ALTITUDE…

Last weekend I had the pleasure of traveling to the Lowcountry with friends to celebrate my best friend’s wedding.   We celebrated the nuptials in fantastic style with a lovely outdoor wedding on her groom’s family’s property.  It was simply stunning.

One other highlight of our trip was having a friend fly us to the wedding from Charleston.   Boy, oh boy do I love flying.

Speaking of flying,  Labels is proud to be one of the sponsors of tonight’s ALTITUDE event with TOWN magazine and Tempus Jets.   Held at the GSP airport in the jet hangar, this is going to be one cool event.  Get this, the theme is 60’s travel chic!   Thinking Mad Men meets Pan Am, meets Lilly Pulitzer’s Palm Beach.   We’re so excited to be showing off some of our Betty inspired looks tonight.. and here’s what’s in store today:
